Orange Theory review

We all have that new year new goal, but does anyone really ever stick to it? I can’t tell you how many times actually probably every year of my life I have said I am going to eat healthier, work out, lose weight, work on my spending habits and I fail so hard within 3 months. I have though, been sticking to my new recent goal for the past few months of losing weight and working out!

I joined Orange Theory and it’s been a total game changer. Orange Theory is a high intensity workout class. You go for an hour with one trainer and 22-23 other people and work your ass off doing Cardio, rowing, and weight training. It kicks my ass every single time I go, but honestly it’s the best workout I’ve ever had. The point of the class is to push yourself to the. Half the class starts off doing cardio the other half start doing weight training, then you switch. The trainer gives you what exercises to do in the weight room and shows you how to do it. Cardio, you have a thing called “base, push, all out” you start off at your base and it depends if you are a runner, jogger, or power walker is what speed & incline you go. The “base” is the starting point, the trainer will call out that we are about to do a 4 minute push (example)¬†which means you either up your incline (if you’re a power walker) or go faster if you are a jogger/runner, all out means you better run or walk your ass off.

You wear a heart rate monitor on your wrist and the everyone’s heart rate is up on a TV screen and the purpose is to get into the “orange” zone. This freaked me out at first but no one pays attention to anything but there own name and where they are at. So in the beginning you are in the blue zone, then green, orange, red. Each is depending on your heart rate and the ultimate goal is to get into the Orange zone for at least 9-12 minutes in the class where this effectively helps you burn the most calories including the next day as well. My average calorie burn for one class is about 575-625 and I am reaching to go higher!

This is literally just a quick summary of this class, each class is different so you are never doing the same thing twice. This isn’t a paid review, and I am not affiliated as an employee of Orange Theory. I’m simply a person who goes to get there ass into shape and wants to get healthy and see results. I write this post because I know many of my readers want an alternative way to push themselves at the gym.. Although, it is pricey but your first time is free! If you have questions about this class leave them in the comments and tell me what you’re doing to help on your fitness journey!
